A Notebook Layout That Keeps Session Ranges Organised Week to Week
A loose stack of printed charts becomes unreadable by Wednesday. The layout below is what we hand out at the first workshop of each month — participants tell us it keeps session context visible without flipping through unrelated pages.
Left page: daily log
One trading day per page. Top third: instrument name, date, and session times you used. Middle third: a blank chart box for your marks. Bottom third: three lines labelled High, Low, Sweep notes.
Right page: weekly comparison
Five mini-boxes, one per weekday, showing only the final session range rectangles in pencil. By Friday you can see whether your ranges tightened or expanded through the week without re-reading every daily page.
Margin conventions
- London range: solid horizontal lines
- New York range: dashed horizontal lines
- Sweep candidate: circle at the wick tip with a one-word note (e.g. "shallow", "double")
- Rejected sweep: small cross through the circle if price did not return inside the range within your time threshold
We recommend a spiral-bound A4 notebook with grid paper. The grid lines help align session boxes across days. Avoid ring binders — they do not lie flat when you mark charts at the desk.
Download is not available; the printed workbook is included with workshop enrolment and updated each quarter as we add new archived examples.
